"Penguin Highway" Anime Film Hits Theaters in Japan in August of 2018

Movie based on the book by Tomihiko Morimi marks the first feature-length work by Studio Colorido


A 4th grade boy experiences an unforgettable and mysterious summer in Penguin Highway, a theatrical anime film based on the book by Tomihiko Morimi (The Eccentric Family, The Tatami Galaxy) and also the first feature-length movie animated by Studio Colorido.

Penguin Highway also features the voice takents of Kana Kita as Aoyama-kun and Yū Aoi as "Onee-san".



In Penguin Highway, Aoyama-kun is an intelligent and studious 4th grade student who is constantly jotting down everything that he learns in his notebooks. He is also on good terms with "Onee-san", a young lady who works at the dental clinic that Aoyama-kun goes to. Aoyama-kun is shocked one day when he encounters a penguin in the middle of his suburban town, which is nowhere near the sea. The mystery only deepens when Aoyama-kun observes "Onee-san" tossing away a can of cola, only for the can to turn into a penguin!


Penguin Highway waddles into theaters in Japan in August of 2018.
