"Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma The Third Plate" Anime Returns to TV on April 08, 2018

The second cour of the third season of the culinary manga adaptation adapts the "Toutsuki Train Arc" story-line

Picking up where its first cour (which broadcast from October 2017 - December 2017) left off, Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma The Third Plate is primed to return to Japanese television for a second cour of culinary adventures beginning on April 08, 2018. The series will broadcast according to the following schedule:

  • Tokyo MX: every Sunday during the 24:30 time slot beginning on April 08, 2018.
  • BS11: every Sunday during the 24:30 time slot beginning on April 08, 2018.

Please note that because some Japanese TV schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, the 24:30 time slot on Monday is actually on Tuesday morning at 12:30 AM JST.

The original Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma manga is written by Yūto Tsukuda, illustrated by Shun Saeki, and serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump manga magazine. An English language version is also available from Viz Media. The Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma TV anime is directed by Yoshitomo Yonetani and features animation by J.C. Staff. Crunchyroll describes the series as follows:

Shokugeki no Soma centers on Yukihira Soma, a middle school student who is determined to surpass his father’s culinary skills. One day, his father decides to close down their family restaurant and hone his skills in Europe. Before leaving he enrolls Soma in an elite culinary school that is extremely difficult to enter with a graduation rate of only 10 percent. Will Soma be able to improve his skills, or will the kitchen prove to be too hot?
