No Bones About It: "Overlord" Returns for 3rd Season in July of 2018

Director Naoyuki Ito and animation studio MADHOUSE continue adaptation of dark fantasy light novel series

You can't keep a good lich down (or even a bad one, for that matter), and Overlord - the TV anime adaptation based on the series of dark fantasy light novels about an ordinary person who assumes the role of his over-powered undead avatar when he ends up trapped in a world based on a defunct MMORPG - is coming back for a third season that hits Japanese TV in July of 2018.

The cast and crew of the previous two seasons of Overlord will reprise their roles, and three new cast members have also been announced, including:

Takahiro Sakurai as Jircniv.

Takaya Hashi as Fluder.

And Yumiri Hanamori as Evileye.

Based on the series of novels written by Kugane Maruyama, illustrated by so-bin, and published in Japan by Enterbrain, the 3rd season of the Overlord TV anime is directed by Naoyuki Itō and features animation by MADHOUSE. Overlord III will broadcast in Japan beginning in July of 2018.

The previous two seasons of Overlord are streamed in North America by Crunchyroll and Funimation, who describe the story as follows:

When a popular MMORPG is scheduled to be shut down permanently, veteran player Momonga refuses to log out. As NPCs begin to develop personalities and minds of their own he decides to put his skills to use as the game’s new overlord.
