TV anime based on "food fantasy" light novel series is currently airing in Japan and streaming on Crunchyroll
Two more supernatural beings will be joining the cast of Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits- , a currently broadcasting TV anime based on the "food fantasy" light novel series about a college student who takes a job at an otherworldly inn, beginning with Episode 03 of the series. The new cast members (pictured in the visual above from left to right) include:
- Maaya Uchida as Suzuran, a spider spirit and the younger sister of Akatsuki. Suzuran used to work as a geisha in the capital, but now she works as a waitress at the Tenjin-ya. She knew Aoi's grandfather, Shiro, very well and was very fond of him.
- And Tomokazu Sugita as Tannosuke, an itten-momen (cotton cloth spirit) that is the proprietor of a well-known dry goods store. Tannosuke is famous for being spoiled and foolish, and he pursues Suzuran's affections relentlessly.
Known as Kakuriyo no Yadomeshi in Japan, the original Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits- light novels are written by Midori Yuuma, illustrated by Laruha, and published by Fujimi Shobo (a division of Kadokawa) under their Fujimi L Bunko imprint. The Kakuriyo -Bed & Breakfast for Spirits- TV anime is directed by Yoshiko Okuda and features animation by GONZO.

After losing her grandfather, Aoi inherits his ability to see spirits known as ayakashi. Taking it all in stride, she takes to feeding the ayakashi until one day, an ogre appears demanding she pay her grandfather’s debt. His price? Her hand in marriage! Refusing this absurd offer, Aoi decides to work at the Tenjin-ya—a bed and breakfast for the ayakashi—to pay back what her family owes.
