"Asagao to Kase-san" Releases Three Music Albums in June

Theme song, cover song & audio drama, and original soundtrack albums are inspired by Hiromi Takashima's yuri manga

Just in time for the Japanese limited theatrical release of the Asagao to Kase-san ("Kase-san and Morning Glories") OAV, the animation based on the yuri manga by Hiromi Takashima has also inspired the release of three music and audio drama albums that will all be released on June 06, 2018.

The official theme song, ""Ashita e no Tobira" ("The Door to Tomorrow")", will be released as a single with album artwork illustrated by character designer Kyūta Sakai. It retails for 926 yen ($8.65 US) plus tax and includes a short epilogue audio drama as a bonus track.

The cover song & audio drama album (pictured above) includes 7 tracks and also features artwork by Kyūta Sakai. It retails for 2778 yen ($26.03 US) plus tax.

Finally, the original soundtrack includes all of the music used in the Asagao to Kase-san OAV and audio dramas. It retails for 2788 yen ($26.03 US) plus tax and also includes a 12 page booklet as a bonus.

The Asagao to Kase-san manga was originally serialized in Shinshokan's Hirari manga magazine before moving to the Flash Wings web publication. An English language version of the manga is published by Seven Seas Entertainment under the title Kase-san and..., and they describe the story as follows:

"Yamada may be shy and rather clumsy, but the flower gardens at her school have always brought her happiness. Suddenly, a different sort of beauty catches her eye—the vivacious track star, Kase-san. Although the two girls don’t seem to have much in common, they soon start a romance where each must learn an important lesson in tending their budding relationship. Can the two girls, so different from each other, learn how to make their first love blossom?"

The Asagao to Kase-san OAV is directed by Takuya Sato and features animation by ZEXCS. It will receive a limited theatrical release in Japan at venues such as the Shinjuku Wald 9 and Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas beginning on June 09, 2018.
