P.A.WORKS to Launch Its Own E-Book Label "P.A.BOOKS" Next Month

The first entry is a novelization of its 2008 TV anime "true tears"

Toyama-based anime production company P.A.WORKS announced on April 20 that it will launch its own e-book specialized label "P.A.BOOKS" in May of this year. The label's official website and Twitter also opened. While Kyoto Animation has its own light novel imprint KA Esuma Bunko, P.A.BOOKS is the first E-book label operated by a Japanese animation studio. The label's titles will be available via most of major Japanese digital bookstores. 


Starting novels based on its three original TV anime series, true tears (2008), TARI TRAI (2012), and Kuromukuro(2016) as listed below, the label also plans to publish novelizations and comicalizations of its future original anime before it airs.


Announced titles:


May 2018: "true tears novelization" (based on the company's 2008 original TV anime)

 author: Toru Fujimoto/illustrator Yumeto Ueda (original character designer)


June 2018: "Kuromukuro: A Ghost at a Speed of 290,000 km per second" (from the 2016 TV anime)

 author: Ryo Higaki (series composition writer)/illustrator: Yuriko Ishii (character designer)


July 2018: "TARI TARI sequel (tentative title)" (from the 2012 TV anime) 

 author: Masakzu Hashimoto (director)/illustrator: tanu (original character designer)
