"Detective Conan" Continues Japan's Box Office Domination for Five Consecutive Weeks

The 22nd Conan film is expected to be the top-grossing one in the anime franchise pretty soon

Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer topped Japan's weekend box office for the fifth weekend in a row with an impressive 277 million yen on 199,000 admissions, bringing its total domestic earnings to 6.7 billion yen (5.19 million ticket sales), which is more than twice of those of Walt Disney and Marvel's internationally successful super hero assemble film Avengers: Infinity War (3 billion yen/2.4 million tickets) 


The 22nd Conan film has already become the second top-grossing film in the 22-year-old anime franchise, surpassing the 20th film Pure Black Nightmare (2016/6.33 billion), and is expected to be the top-grossing one pretty soon breaking the previous record of 6.87 billion yen marked by the 21st film Crimson Love Letter (2017).
