Japanese Bookstore Gets Medieval With "Armored Battle Group War Training Camp"

One day event sponsored by Castle Tintagel introduces onlookers to the art of European knightly combat

On May 27, 2018, Tokyo book store Books Hōrindō Takadanobaba is going old-school with an event entitled "Armored Battle Group War Training Camp" that is one part historical reenactment and one part combat sports. The event is produced in cooperation with Castle Tintagel, a Tokyo-based club dedicated to the study of bushido and knightly combat.

The "Armored Battle Group War Training Camp" event will be held in the event space on the 8th floor of the Books Hōrindō Takadanobaba in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. It includes an exhibition match performed by Castle Tintagel, and there will also be a display of replica weapons and related literature on the 5th floor. Beginning on May 14, 2018, customers who make a purchase of at least 1000 yen (or who purchase a book from a special list of medieval-themed light novels and manga) will receive a ticket to the event as a bonus.

(I wish more book stores in the U.S. had demonstrations of 15th century German knightly combat.)
