The newest cast announcement comes with a new visual featuring most of the confirmed cast members (and Elizabeth) flashing a peace sign. Additionally, more cast announcements will be revealed from May 22 - May 26, 2018, on the official Gintama 2 home page and social media feeds.
The original Gintama manga is serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump manga magazine, and an English language version is also available from Viz Manga. The 2017 live-action Gintama film is directed by Yuichi Fukuda and is distributed in North America by Well Go USA Entertainment, who describe the story as follows:
The power of samurai is on decline as the aliens from outer space have invaded the country and outlawed their swords. This film portrays the life of handyman Gintoki Sakata, who still carries the heart of a samurai.
