New preview video and Japanese TV schedule revealed for adaptation of unsettling manga by Tomiyaki Kagisora
A new preview video (below) and the Japanese TV schedule have been published for Happy Sugar Life, an upcoming TV anime based on the psychological horror manga by Tomiyaki Kagisora about a deranged and dangerous young woman who will do anything to hold on to the warm and fuzzy feelings inspired by the girl she loves.
The original Happy Sugar Life manga is serialized in Square Enix's Monthly Gangan Joker shonen manga magazine. The story follows Sato Matsuzaka, a high school girl who experiences a wonderfully sweet feeling whenever she's around Shiori, a young girl whom Sato adores. Sato is willing to do anything to protect that special feeling, including committing crimes such as blackmail, kidnapping, and murder.
The Happy Sugar Life TV anime is directed by Keizō Kusakawa and Nobuyoshi Nagayama and features animation production by Ezo’la. The series will broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:
- MBS (Mainichi Broadcasting System): every Friday during the 25:55 time slot beginning on July 13, 2018.
- TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System): every Friday during the 25:55 time slot beginning on July 13, 2018.
- BS-TBS: every Saturday during the 24:00 time slot beginning on July 14, 2018.
- AT-X: every Wednesday during the 24:00 time slot beginning on July 18, 2018.
(Please note that some Japanese TV schedules count early-morning programming as late-night programming of the previous day, so for example the 25:55 time slot on Friday is actually on Saturday morning at 1:55 AM JST.)
