Kakifly's "K-ON!" Manga Returns with New Series "K-ON! Shuffle" Next Month

The whole "K-ON!" anime franchise earned over 347 million US dollars in Japan

It is officially announced today in the latest July 2018 issue of Houbunsha's four-panel manga magazine Manga Time Kirara that K-ON! Shuffle, a new installment of Kakifly's girls rock band-themed comedy manga series K-ON!, will start serialization in the magazine's next August issue to be released on July 9.


The magazine's official Twitter has posted a teaser illustration for K-ON! Shuffle to introduce its protagonist girl with drumsticks. Her name has not yet been revealed. The taglines can read: "The new movement, starts playing!!" and "This time's protagonist is in charge of drums!?"  




Kakifly's original K-ON! manga series was serialized in Manga Time Kirara from 2007 to 2012 and in

Manga Time Kirara Carat from 2008 to 2012, and compiled in six tankobon volumes: four volumes 

for the main series and one volume for each of its sequel K-ON! college and a spin-off K-ON! high school.


It was apapted into two TV anime series (2009-2010) and one feature film (2011), all animated by

Kyoto Animation. According to Tokyo Broadcasting System Holdings' report in May 2012, the whole

K-ON! anime franchise including anime DVD/Blu-rays and various merchandise had earned 38 billion

yen (about 347 million US dollars) in Japan.
