"Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" Brings Absurdly Stacked Roster to Switch

8-player battles return and Nintendo shows off a ton of updated moves


Nintendo's Direct presentation just ended, and it's safe to say the highlight was an explosion of info on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Switch. Masahiro Sakurai broke down the latest entry in the series, which includes every playable character ever along with the new Inklings and the addition of Metroid villain Ridley. 


Eight-player battles are also making a comeback, and there are… look, there are "tens of thousands" of updates to moves, expressions, Assist Trophies, and more. It's all due out on December 7, and you can see the initial roster trailer below.
