3D Kanojo Real Girl Returns to 2D for a Second Season

Manga adaptation to return in early 2019

After receiving an anime adaptation this past spring, manga series 3D Kanojo Real Girl is gearing up for a second TV run early in 2019.

The rom-com manga by Mao Nanami stars Hikaru, an otaku who's never been in a relationship with a real girl. He gets a chance with classmater Iroha, with a catch -- she'll be moving in six months.

The series was licensed by Sentai Filmworks and streamed by HIDIVE outside Japan. The show also dipped into the world of virtual YouTubers, giving secondary character Yuto Ito (CV Shouta Aoi) his own channel and hosting duties.

The second season will run in NTV's "AnichU" block starting in January 2019. A live-action film adaptation starring Ayami Nakajo and Hayato Sano is set to premiere in Japan on September 14.
