Kei Sasuga's Love Comedy Manga Domestic Girlfriend Gets TV Anime Adaptation

It is officially announced today that a TV anime adaptation of Kei Sasuga's love comedy manga Domestic na Kanojo/Domestic Girlfriend is now in the works. The anime's official website and Twitter also open with a teaser visual, announcing its main staff and the voice cast for its two main heroines.

The manga has been serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine since April 2014 and its latest 19th

tankobon volume is set to be released in Japan on July 17. Kodansha USA has been digitally publishing its

English-language edition since April 2017. The English edition publisher introduces its story as below:


-High schooler Natsuo is hopelessly in love with his cheerful and popular teacher, Hina. However, one day at

a mixer, he meets a moody girl by the name of Rui and ends up sleeping with her. Soon after, his father

announces that he's getting remarried to a woman with two daughters of her own. And who shows up in tow,

other than both Hina and Rui?! Natsuo's outrageous new life starts now!



Shota Ihata (Girlish Number) serves as director at Diomedéa (Aho-Girl, BEATLESS), alongside series

composition writer Tatsuya Takahashi (Katana Maidens ~ Toji No Miko) and character designer Naomi

Ide (KanColle, Action Heroine Cheer Fruits).



Maaya Uchida (Rikka Takanashi in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions) and Yoko Hikasa (Mio Akiyama in

K-ON!) are cast as the two heroines in the anime adaptation, Rui Tachibana and Hina Tachibana, respectively.



The manga author has posted two memorial illustrations for the TV anime announcement on Twitter.
