It appears that Chio Miyamo, the totally ordinary high school girl heroine of Tadataka Kawasaki's gag manga Chio's School Road, will travel to school for the final time in September, because the final chapter of the original Chio's School Road manga (known as Chio-chan no Tsugakuro in Japan) will be published soon.
The final chapter of Chio's School Road will run in the October issue of Media Factory's Monthly Comic Flapper seinen manga magazine, which will be released in Japan on September 05, 2018. The 8th and final collected volume of the Chio's School Road manga will be published in Japan on September 21, 2018. Chio's School Road began serialization in Monthly Comic Flapper in May of 2014.
Chio's School Road is currently being adapted into a TV anime with direction by Takayuki Inagaki and animation production by Diomedéa. The series is currently broadcasting in Japan and also available via streaming on Crunchyroll, who describe the story as follows:
Miyamo Chio, a first-year at the completely ordinary high school Samejima Academy. Chio just wants to get through her school life without standing out too much, but for some reason, all kinds of obstacles await her along the path she takes to school. Her long-time friend Nonomura Manana, who's trying to quit being an otaku; the flawless Hosokawa Yuki, who occupies the top caste in the school; and lots of nameless people about town find themselves in Chio's path as she employs the (useless) techniques she's acquired from her Western video games in her daily efforts to get to school.
So long, Chio, and thanks for the memories!
