Three More Cast Members Join the Secret World of INGRESS THE ANIMATION
Adaptation based on AR smart phone game by Niantic will stream worldwide on Netflix

Three new cast members have been revealed for INGRESS THE ANIMATION, an upcoming TV anime based on the augmented reality smart phone game by Niantic (Pokémon GO) that proposes that the world as we know it is not as it seems to be. The new cast members include:
Tarusuke Shingaki as Christopher Brandt, a "comprehensive scientist" with a vast knowledge of subjects such as physics, engineering, and computer science. He has hired Jack as a bodyguard.
Kōsuke Toriumi as Liu Tianhua, the head of security of the Hulong Corporation. Liu has the ability to gather Dark XM from his surroundings and release it as an explosive blast.
And Kentarō Tone as Jion Kunikida, a hacker who is Makoto's former companion. Jion makes his living by running a "counterfeit shop" that forges official documents.

Since he was little, Makoto had a strange power which enabled him to read the memories of objects he touched. Hiding his uncontrollable power, he works as a special agent in the police force. One day, while investigating an explosion at a laboratory that researches a unknown substance called “XM”, he sees a mysterious memory. The memory was from Sarah’s ring, who was the sole survivor of the accident. It was a sight of a person being swallowed into a red light and disappearing. Makoto becomes embroiled in a massive conspiracy. The battle for “XM”, a material that could affect human mind, starts now――
INGRESS THE ANIMATION is directed by Yuhei Sakuragi and features animation production by CRAFTAR Inc.. The series will begin broadcasting in Japan in October of 2018 as part of Fuji TV's new "Plus Ultra" programming block. INGRESS THE ANIMATION will also be streamed worldwide on Netflix.
