Animators Collaborate for Magic: The Gathering 25th Anniversary Event

Directors Koji Morimoto and Osamu Kobayashi create original works of animation for event in Tokyo

 

Collectible trading card game Magic: The Gathering is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and an art exhibition in Tokyo that features original animated collaborations from directors Koji Morimoto ("Franken's Gears" in Robot Carnival, "Beyond" in The Animatrix) and Osamu Kobayashi (Mongolian Chop SquadParadise Kiss) is part of the festivities.

 

 

The exhibition runs from September 11 - 17, 2018, at the Lumine 0 venue in Sendagaya, Shibuya Ward, Tokyo, Japan. In addition to the animated collaborations by Morimoto and Kobayashi, the exhibition also includes displays of rare cards and artwork, background and setting materials for the upcoming Guilds of Ravnica expansion, Guilds of Ravnica card previews, and original goods. Tickets to the exhibition cost 500 yen ($4.50 US).
