Lupicia creates new tea blends based on classic characters Kiki and Totoro
Studio Ghibli is releasing something special for the tea drinkers among its fans: two tins of loose tea, commemorating fan favorite films Kiki's Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro.
The two blends have been created by Japanese tea company Lupicia, with the intent of evoking the feel of each film's story and characters.
For My Neighbor Totoro, roasted tea is blended with azuki beans and black soybeans. The result is a sweet, earthy tea perfect for autumn.
The Kiki's Delivery Service blend combines black tea with vanilla, strawberry, and mirabelle plum:
Each blend comes in a small, retro-style tin that holds about 40g of tea. The teas go on sale October 13 for 1,800 yen each.
