Gintama 2 Live-Action Film Crosses 3 Billion Yen Mark in Japan
dTV's web drama series has also been viewed more than 20 million times

The sequel's box office momentum in Japan is still strong. The official Twitter for Gintama 2: Okite wa Yaburu tame ni koso Aru (The Rule is surely there to be broken) announced today that it had earned a gigantic three billion yen from its domestic run and that the current total ticket sales of the two films had surpassed 5.2 million. It is expected to reach the first film's total box office gross of 3.84 billion yen by the end of this month.

Meanwhile, the second web drama Gintama 2 - Yo nimo Kimyouna Gintama-chan (The Strange and
Unusual Gintama-chan) has become the most viewed drama on its platform, NTT DoCoMo's online
video streaming service dTV, surpassing the previous record held by the first web drama Gintama
Mitsuba-hen (Mitsuba chapter) last summer. A total viewing number of the two series has reached
20 million.
