New key visuals and Japanese release date revealed for anime theatrical film based on Fujio Akatsuka's gag manga
A new trailer, the Japanese release date, and two new key visuals have been revealed for Mr. Osomatsu the Movie (known in Japan as Eiga no Osomatsu-san), an upcoming anime theatrical film featuring a new story in which the Matsuno siblings come face-to-face with the questionable nature of their adult lives after attending a high school reunion.
One of the new key visuals (above) features the six Matsuno brothers as teens dressed in their high school uniforms, while the other new key visual (below) depicts them as fully grown but revisiting their high school home room. The trailer sets a somewhat somber tone, with serious narration and swelling music, but if the previous animated iterations of Mr. Osomatsu are anything to go by, it's too soon to say whether the movie will take a more sentimental turn.
Mr. Osomatsu the Movie is based on the characters created by Fujio Akatsuka for the classic gag manga, Osomatsu-kun. Mr. Osomatsu the Movie is directed by Yoichi Fujita and features animation production by Pierrot. The film hits theaters in Japan on March 15, 2019.
