Adaptation of "healing" web manga about a reclusive writer and his adopted cat hits Japanese TV in January
A new cast member and the ending theme performer have been revealed for Dokyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki Atama no Ue. ("My housemate is on my knee, sometimes, on my head."), an upcoming TV anime based on the "healing" web comic about the everyday lives of a shy author and the stray kitten that he adopts.
The ending theme, entitled "Kimi no Tonari Watashi no Basho" ("My Place is Near You"), is performed by Yoshino Nanjō. The song features composition by Hanako Oku and lyrics by Yoshino Nanjō. Yoshino Nanjō is also joining the cast of Dokyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki Atama no Ue. in the role of Haru Akimoto, a character who has a strong relationship with Subaru's pet cat, Haru.
The original Dokyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki Atama no Ue. manga is written by Minatsuki, illustrated by As Futasuya, and serialized in Flex Comix's Comic Polaris digital manga magazine. The series follows the everyday lives of Subaru Mikazuki, a reclusive author who writes mystery novels, and Haru, a stray kitten whom Subaru adopts. The story is told from the perspectives of both the human and feline characters.
The Dokyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki Atama no Ue. TV anime is directed by Kaoru Suzuki and features animation production by Zero-G. The series will broadcast in Japan on Tokyo MX, AT-X, ABC TV (Asahi Broadcasting Corportation), and BS11 beginning in January of 2019.
