Hatsune Miku and Honda Hit the Road with Smart Car Collaboration

Collab includes a smart phone app featuring Miku's voice and a wrapping illustration by To Love Ru manga author

Dwango and Honda are teaming up for a smart car collaboration entitled "Let's Drive with Miku!" which combines the talents of manga authors, musicians, cosplayers, and more to promote a unique marriage of smart phone, automobile, and Vocaloid virtual idol.

The prototype for the project will be displayed at the TOKYO AUTO SALON 2019 event, which runs from January 11 - 13, 2019, at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba. The presentation features original illustrations and car-wrapping artwork by To Love Ru author Kentaro Yabuki, cosplay by Enako, music by Dixie Flatline, and a music video by MakinoSena.

The "Let's Drive with Miku!" project includes a customized Honda S660 automobile with integrated support for osoba, a smart phone application for iOS that allows voice-interaction with fictional characters. With osoba, the Miku-mobile will comment on subjects such as mileage and fuel levels as well as providing maintenance reminders for oil changes, tire rotations, and so on.
