Magical Girl Special Ops Asuka TV Anime Premieres on January 11

Adaptation is coming to the Animeism block in Japan

A brief 15-second commercial arrived for the upcoming Magical Girl Special Ops Asuka TV anime, which is based on the manga by Makoto Fukami and Seigo Tokiya. In addition to a few more seconds of footage from the adaptation, the ad announces plans for the series to premiere as part of the Animeism block in Japan starting on January 11, 2019.

After being broadcast on MBS and TBS, airings on BS-TBS, AT-X, and CBC will follow, and Japan-only streaming is currently set for Amazon Prime. Hideyo Yamamoto (Strike the Blood) directs, with Makoto Fukami (Berserk) and Norimitsu Kaihō (Danganronpa 3) on series composition for the LIDEN FILMS production.

The original manga is available in English via Seven Seas, which describes it like so:

When the Earth is threatened by the sudden appearance of undead creatures, a group of young women blessed with powers from a mysterious source rose to defeat them. Now, after three years of apparent peace, the same malevolent creatures have resurfaced. Five magical girls are once again conscripted to war as the Magical Girl Special-Ops force, to defend mankind from an unholy nemesis.
