TV Anime The Quintessential Quintuplets Premiere Set for January 10, 2019

The official Twitter for the forthcoming TV anime adaptation of Negi Haruba's love comedy manga Gotoubun no Hanayome/The Quintessential Quintuplets announced today that it is set to premiere on TBS on January 10, 2019, then on Sun TV on 11 and BS-TBS on 12. 



In addition to the previously-reported main voice cast, Natsumi Takamori (Miku Maekawa in The [email protected]

Cinderella Girls) plays the protagonist Futaro Uesugi's little sister Raiha, while Satoshi Hino (Ainz Ooal Gown

in Overlord) is cast as his father Yuuya.


And the OP song "Gotoubun no Kimochi" (Five equal feeling) is performed by the voice cast of the Nakano

five quintuplet sisters: Kana Hanazawa (Ichika), Ayana Teketatsu (Nino), Miku ito (Miku), Ayane Sakura

(Yotsuba), and Inori Minase (Itsuki). Its CD single will be released on January 30, 2019. Meanwhile, the

ED song "Sign" is sung by Aya Uchida (Minami Kotori in Love Live!), and is set to be released as her fourth

solo single on March 6. Furthermore, a character song mini album featuring the five main heroines will also

available on the same day as the ED song single.

Gotoubun no Hanayome was originally published as a one-shot story in Weekly Shonen Magazine's 8th

issue of 2017. Thanks to the favorable response from the readers, it started serialization in the magazine

in its 36th/37th combined issue of the same year. 


Its English edition The Quintessential Quintuplets has been released by Kodansha USA under the Kodansha

Comics imprint since June 2018. The publisher introduces its story as below:


One day, a poor high school second-year named Futaro Uesugi comes across a private tutoring gig with good

pay. But his pupils are his classmates!! And they’re quintuplets!! A-and they’re all gorgeous girls, but they’re

also troublemakers who hate to study and are on the verge of flunking out! And his first task is simply gaining

the sisters’ trust?! Every day is a party! The curtain is rising on the Nakano quintuplets’ quirky romantic comedy

with five times the cute!!
