A new key visual (above) has been published for Date a Live III, the continuing TV anime adaptation based on the series of science fiction / romantic comedy light novels written by Koushi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsunako about an ordinary high school boy who must save the world by wooing a bevy of beautiful spirits.
The original Date a Live novels are published in Japan by Fujimi Shobo under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. Date a Live III is directed by Keitarou Motonaga and features animation production by J.C. Staff. The previous two seasons of the Date a Live TV anime are distributed in the U.S. by Funimation, who describe the story of the series as follows:
Ordinary high school boy Shido discovers a mysterious girl at ground zero of a recent spacequake. Shido learns, through his sister Kotori, that the girl is one of the Spirits: mystical creatures responsible for the spacequakes. Shido is recruited to help “seal” the sprits and end their threat to mankind. There’s just one catch: the only way to seal a spirit—is to make her fall in love with you.
Date a Live III will broadcast in Japan on AT-X, Tokyo MX, and KBS Kyoto beginning on January 11, 2019, with additional broadcasts to follow on TV Aichi, Sun TV, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, and BS11. The series will also be digitally distributed in Japan on d Anime Store and AbemaTV.
