Highly-anticipated second film is set to be released on July 19, 2019
The official Twitter for the live-action film project based on Sui Ishida's dark fantasy manga series Tokyo
Ghoul has posted a photo from its upcoming second film introducing 21-year-old fashion model/actress
Maika Yamamoto (Kaede Kayano in Assassination Classroom live-action films) as the main heroine Touka
Kirishima for the first time, alongside 30-year-old Masataka Kubota (Light Yagami in the Death Note TV
darma), who reprises his role as the protagonist Ken Kaneki following the first film.
As reported, Fumika Shimizu, who portrayed Touka in the first film, has joined the Happy Science religion
and decided to act only for the cult religious group's promotional films (including the 2018 anime film The
Laws of The Universe - Part 1) under her new name Yoshiko Sengen.
It is also announced that the highly-anticipated sequel is set to be released in Japan on July 19, 2019,
just two years after the first film released on July 29, 2017.
