Akira Ōkubo will illustrate the series, which is set to launch in spring 2019
Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto is going sci-fi samurai for his next manga series. While Kishimoto won't be in charge of the art for Samurai 8, which was announced at this weekend's Jump Festa, he'll be on writing duties for the series, with Akira Ōkubo illustrating.
Kishimoto commented on the project, expressing his excitement for mixing Japanese culture and history with a sci-fi setting. Samurai 8 is set to debut in spring 2019, so for now we'll have to make do with the promo and teaser image below.
