Keitaro Motonaga (Date A Live, Digimon Adventure tri.) serves as director at studio A-CAT
It is confirmed today that a TV anime adaptation based on ÖYSTER's romantic comedy manga Choukadou
Girl 1/6/Over Drive Girl 1/6 is now in the works for April 2019 premiere. The anime's official website and
Twitter have opened with a teaser visual and a 30-second first PV introducing its 1/6 scale figure heroine
The manga's original series Over Drive Girl 1/6 was serialized in Futabsha's Monthly Action from 2012 to
2015 and compiled in four tankobon volumes. Then its sequel series Over Drive Girls has been running
in the magazine since September 2017, releasing one tankobon volume so far.
The anime's official website introduces its story as below:
Haruto Bouida, a hard-core otaku who has no interest in women in the three-dimension world (reality).
One day, he purchases a bishoujo figure of Nona, the heroine of his favorite anime. But, Nona, who
should be just a figure, suddenly starts moving! A comedic married-like life between a human and a
machine (?) begins!
Keitaro Motonaga (Date A Live, Digimon Adventure tri.) serves as director at studio A-CAT (Frame Arms
Girl), alongside series composition writer Chabou Higurashi (Arpeggio of Blue Steel -Ars Nova-) and
character designer Hidekazu Yamana (Interviews with Monster Girls episode animation director).
Wataru Hatano (Murasaki in Hamatora) is cast as the male protagonist Haruto Bouida.
Suzuna Kinoshita (Misaki Komaba in Railroad Crossing Time) voices the main heoroine Nona.
The manga author celebrates the news on Twitter with a newly-drawn illustration.
