Learning with Manga! FGO Is Finally the Anime It Was Meant to Be

15-minute episode lets Gudako off her leash

There's a new Fate/Grand Order anime, and finally, Gudako has taken the lead.

This year's New Year's Eve Fate Project brought us not only episode zero of Lord El-Melloi's Case Files, but also a 15-minute anime adaptation of Fate/Grand Order's (theoretically) educational manga series. Learning with Manga! FGO introduces readers to the experience of playing the mobile game, through the eyes of the female iteration of player character Ritsuka Fujimaru. Nicknamed Gudako, she's portrayed as having a slightly more aggressive than usual relationship with the game and its characters.

Gudako is voiced by Tomoko Kaneda, known primarily for her role as Chiyo in Azumanga Daioh. She also provides the voice of male Ritsuka (a.k.a. Gudao), with the rest of the cast returning to their roles from previous Fate games and series.

The full episode is up on Fate/Grand Order's official YouTube channel. At the time of this article being published, no subtitles were available, but it mostly speaks for itself:
