AniEve X hopes to resurrect popular site for 2019
For six years, the AniEve Z website offered information to fans in Japan and abroad about live anison DJ events. In 2019, the site is hoping to reopen its doors with the help of fans.
The new initiative, titled AniEve X, is beginning with a campaign on Japanese crowdfunding site campfire. Site owner Ichirou Watanabe began AniEve Z as a personal hobby in 2012, but found by 2018 that running it would require more resources than he had available. The site shutdown caused fans to rally together and request the ability to help. From this came the plan for AniEve X: a "reboot" of the site with a new business structure.
The new site hopes to combine an events calendar, anison event news, and concert sponsorship. Sponsors can get AniEve merch, ad space on the website, and on-site experiences such as anison DJ training.
Stretch goals begin at 184%, with a live two-day concert.
At the time of this posting, the campaign is 17% of the way to its 2.3 million yen goal, with 44 days remaining.
