M.A.O. Assists Fire Force Anime's Squad as a Nun Named Iris

Brief promo arrives to sample her voice

Last week the Fire Force TV anime tossed the voice of Re:ZERO's Subaru into the mix, so now it's time for another voice actor reveal for the adaptation. Soul Eater creator Atsushi Ohkubo's manga is coming to the small screen thanks to David Production (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Cells at Work!), and the latest cast member to be revealed is none other than M.A.O. (Hikari in Digimon Adventure tri., Enri in Overlord).

M.A.O. will play a nun named Iris, who offers prayers and other types of assistance to Shinra Kusakabe and the rest of Special Fire Force Company 8. Here's a sample:

Yuki Yase (Kubikiri Cycle) serves as director, alongside character designer Hideyuki Morioka (Sayonara, Zetsubou-SenseiKizumonogatari). Its premiere schedule in Japan has not yet been announced.

Kodansha publishes the manga in English and describes it like so:

The city of Tokyo is plagued by a deadly phenomenon: spontaneous human combustion! Luckily, a special team is there to quench the inferno: The Fire Force! The fire soldiers at Special Fire Cathedral 8 are about to get a unique addition. Enter Shinra, a boy who possesses the power to run at the speed of a rocket, leaving behind the famous “devil’s footprints” (and destroying his shoes in the process). Can Shinra and his colleagues discover the source of this strange epidemic before the city burns to ashes?
