Legendary shows some serious confidence in its upcoming movie
When the first trailer arrived for Detective Pikachu, it was made abundantly clear that this thing is gonna rake in a ton of money at the box office. Legendary must be just as confident, because a sequel is already in the works well before the first movie's premiere.
We won't hear more of Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu in the full flick until it opens on May 10, but Legendary has hired Oren Uziel to write the sequel. Uziel previously worked on 22 Jump Street and The Cloverfield Paradox, and also has his name on Sonic the Hedgehog and Men in Black: International.
There currently aren't any details on what the writer has planned, and that's fine. Because, you know, we haven't even seen Detective Pikachu yet!
