Heroines Multiply in Key Visual for Rascal Doesn't Dream of a Dreaming Girl Anime Film

Movie adapting later volumes of the "Seishun Buta Yarou" series hits theaters in Japan on June 15, 2019

A new key visual (above) and the Japanese release date have been revealed for Seishun Buta Yarou wa Yumemiru Shoujo no Yume o Minai ("Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl"), an upcoming theatrical anime film that adapts the sixth and seventh volumes in the Seishun Buta Yarou light novel series about adolescent oddness written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keeji Mizoguchi.

The new key visual depicts the character of Shoko Makinohara in both her "adult" and "junior high school student" forms. The story of the film involves the daily life of Sakuta Azusagawa, whose relationship with Mai Sakurajima is on the rocks after circumstances force him to live with the "adult" version of Shoko. Meanwhile, the "junior high school" version of Shoko is suffering from a mysterious illness, and Sakuta's scars begin to ache...

Like the 2018 Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai TV anime, the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl film is directed by Sōichi Masui and features animation production by CloverWorks. The film hits theaters in Japan on June 15, 2019.

Crunchyroll describes the story of the Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai TV anime as follows:

Puberty syndrome – Abnormal experiences rumored on the internet to be caused by sensitivity and instability during adolescence. This year, Sakuta Azusagawa, a second-year student at a high school near Enoshima, meets several girls that are experiencing this “puberty syndrome.” For instance, he meets a wild bunny girl in the library. She turns out to be an actress on hiatus, Mai Sakurajima, who is also his senior at the school. For some reason, no one else can see this enchanting girl. How did she become invisible…?
