Christoph Waltz even asked AI if she was already engaged with someone
In addition to the original manga author Yukito Kishiro, another special Japanese guest at the Japan premiere screening of Alita: Battle Angel was internationally famous virtual YouTuber Kizuna AI. With her on the stage, Rosa Salazar (Alita), Christoph Waltz (Dr. Dyson Ido), director Robert Rodriguez, and producer Jon Landau talked about the possibility of love and friendship between man and machine, or virtual characters like AI.
Waltz seemed very positive about it and even asked AI if she was already engaged with someone. AI answered no, and said that she had never had a feeling of love, but it might be possible to love a human someday because she at least had a feeling of likes and dislikes towards things. Then Salazar said that she wanted to see a love story between them. Watch the video report provided by Cinema Today below.
