JASDF Komatsu Airbase Introduces Girly Air Force Anime's Real Locations

Kastumi Ono (Symphogear)-directed sci-fi military TV anime is now streamed on Crunchyroll

As with the original novel by Koji Natsumi, the main story of the TV anime Girly Air Force is told in and

around Japan Air Self-Defense Force's Komatsu base in Ishikawa Prefecture.

The base has supported the anime's various promotional activities. It held a talk show by the anime's

two main voice actresses, Yuka Morishima (Gripen) and Hitomi Owada (Eagle), at its yearly air festival

last September, and even gave a permission to film a music video for the anime's OP song "Break The

Blue!!" performed by three-member voice actress idol unit Run Girls, Run! in the base, using its Mitsubishi

F-15J Eagle fighter as a part of the set.

The base's official website recently opened a special page that you can compare the real locations in the

base with the anime visuals based on them, including its front gate, main street, dining hall, hangars, apron,

and bunker. You can check out the photos and visuals here
