Previously announced back in December of 2018, the main cast, staff, and a new key visual have been revealed for Cop Craft, an upcoming TV anime based on the series of buddy cop / isekai fantasy light novels written by Shoji Gatoh (Full Metal Panic!) and illustrated by Range Murata (Last Exile) about a pair of unlikely partners who fight crime in a city populated by denizens of two parallel worlds.
The main staff for Cop Craft includes:
- Original work: Cop Craft: DRAGNET MIRAGE RELOADED by Shoji Gatoh (published by Shogakukan under their Gagaga Bunko imprint)
- Original character design: Range Murata
- Director: Shin Itagaki
- Series composition: Shoji Gatoh
- Character design: Hiromi Kimura
- Animation production: Millepensee
Additionally, voice actors Kenjiro Tsuda and Mayu Yoshioka will play the lead roles of Kei Matoba and Tirana Exedirika, respectively.
Cop Craft is set in the sprawling metropolis of Sun Teresa City some 15 years after a hyper-dimensional rift opened above the Pacific Ocean, connecting Earth with a magical world known as Leto Semani. Now over two million immigrants from both worlds mingle in Sun Teresa City, but despite an otherwise peaceful blending of dozens of cultures, crime still lurks in the shadows. Kei Matoba, an Earth-born police detective, and Tirana Exedirika, a knight from Leto Semani, work together for the Sun Teresa City Police to stamp out drugs, weapon smuggling, human trafficking, and other violent crimes.
Cop Craft will broadcast in Japan during the Summer season of 2019.
