Akio Ōtsuka Leads the Pack in New "Africa no Salaryman" Project

Further details about new work based on Gamu's surreal office comedy manga will be revealed at AnimeJapan 2019

It's a jungle out there in modern corporate life, and what better way to recognize this than with a new work based on Africa no Salaryman (known as African Office Worker or Businessmen in Africa in English), a surreal office comedy web manga by Gamu that re-imagines animals native to Africa as white-collar employees.

So far, few details about the new project have been revealed, although it has been announced that Tetsuya Tatamitani is directing and the cast includes Akio Ōtsuka as Lion, Kenjiro Tsuda as Tokage ("Lizard"), and Hiro Shimono as Oohashi ("Toucan"). More information about the new project will be revealed at the Kadokawa booth at AnimeJapan 2019, which will be held from March 23 - 26, 2019, at the Tokyo Big Sight venue in Tokyo, Japan.

The original Africa no Salaryman web manga is serialized on the Pixiv Comics web site. The series is also published in print collections by Media Factory, a division of Kadokawa, under their MFC Gene Pixiv Series label. Africa no Salaryman was also previously adapted in 2017 into a mini-anime with animation production by Production I.G for the "Anime Beans" smart phone app.
