Production I.G's modern take on classic Sir Arthur Conan Doyle characters hits Japanese TV in October of 2019
There have been many cinematic visions of Sherlocks Holmes over the years, but are you ready for the world's most famous detective re-imagined as a rakugo-obsessed deadbeat bumming around Tokyo's red light district? If so, then the new trailer for Production I.G's Kabukicho Sherlock may be just what Dr. Watson ordered.
Set in modern day Kabukicho in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, Kabukicho Sherlock follows the comedic, mysterious, and dramatic adventures of a ragtag band of detectives as they live together in a tenement above Mrs. Hudson's bar in the red light district and attempt to solve an unusual string of killings known as the "Jack the Ripper Murders".
Kabukicho Sherlock is directed by Ai Yoshimura and features animation production by Production I.G. The series will broadcast in Japan beginning in October of 2019.
