Ys IX: Monstrum Nox Video Offers a Quick Look At the RPG's Gameplay

Falcom debuted footage during Dengeki Game Festival 2019

Falcom was on hand during Dengeki Game Festival 2019 to deliver the first gameplay footage for Ys IX: Monstrum Nox along with a bunch of additional details. According to Falcom, this entry has the largest city in the series to date, with a ton of different areas available for Adol to explore, including a Colosseum. The Monstrum (monsters) in the title play an important role, and their superhuman abilities can be shared throughout your party. Nox (night) is also an important key word, so stay tuned for more on how that piece of the puzzle fits into the whole.

Right now, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox is due out on PS4 in Japan sometime this fall. Check out around five minutes of footage below starting around the 1:49:06 mark for a look at city exploration—including the ability to run on almost any wall—and more.
