Listen to Takehito Koyasu, Tomokazu Sugita, and more in two commercials for the Japanese release
Superhero flick Shazam! is heading to Japan, and stars of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Gintama, and more are teaming up for the dubbed release.
Actor and singer Masaki Suda (Shinpachi in the live-action Gintama film) had already been announced as the dub voice of Zachary Levi's all-growed-up Shazam, with Jiro Sato (Henpeita, also in the live-action Gintama) dubbing Eugene Choi.
Joining the cast are five new familiar voices. Takehito Koyaso (DIO, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) will be dubbing Mark Strong's villainous Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. Tomokazu Sugita (Gintoki, Gintama) takes on Djimon Hounsou's Shazam — as in the wizard who gives Billy Batson his powers. Speaking of Billy, he'll be dubbed by Megumi Ogata (Shinji Ikari, Neon Genesis Evangelion), with his friend Freddy voiced by Daisuke Sakaguchi (Shinpachi in the original Gintama anime). Last but not least, Aya Hirano (Haruhi Suzumiya) returns to voice acting with a turn as Billy's foster sister Mary.

Shazam! opens in Japan on April 19, and if previous superhero openings are any indication, we can expect some fun tie-ins in the near future.
