Magazine will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the Bleach creator's original character settings
The next Sakura Wars game is promising a lot of goodness, including character designs by Bleach creator Tite Kubo. The announcement trailer showed us the cast in all their glory, but Weekly Shonen Sunday subscribers can get a peek at Kubo's original art!
The new video game will follow the battles of a rebuilt Tokyo Flower Division in the year 1940, complete with a new Sakura at the forefront. Kubo's designs are fully rendered in 3DCG for the game, and his style is instantly recognizable.
Weekly Shonen Jump is offering its readers a behind-the-scenes look at Kubo's original work for the game, including multiple pages of character designs and roughs. Plus, there's a fold-out poster by Kubo featuring the main cast of the new game ready for action.
Jump is being cagey with its previews, but one shows a detail of new protagonist Seiijuurou Kamiyama's sword — giving us an idea of how many little details and nuances will be visible in the full spread:
You can check out the full piece for yourself in the latest Weekly Shonen Jump. The new game, tentatively titled Project Sakura Wars, is due for release in North America and Europe in 2020.
