Haruka Fujita-directed spin-off film will get two-week run from September 6, 2019
The official website for the anime adaptation project based on Kana Akatsuki's fantasy light novel series
Violet Evergarden has posted a key visual and a 30-second teaser trailer narrated by Takehito Koyasu for
its forthcoming all-new feature film Violet Evergarden The Movie, and also confirmed that the film is set
to be released in Japan on January 10, 2020.
The Kyoto Animation-produced TV anime adaptation was aired for 13 episodes in Japan from January to
April 2018. The TV series' director Taichi Ishidate (Beyond the Boundary) is attached to the film project
Key visual with a tagline: "The last letter to be sent to my love."
Message from director Taichi:
"Now, with the help of many people, I have been writing a new story of Violet. To make it as a work that
can make the audience satisfied. And, to make it as a story that can make Violet happy. With such thoughts,
I have been working on it everyday. I think it should be a truly straight and beautiful story like the letters
written by Violet. Though it is a little ahead, please look forward to it."
"MoviTicket" edition advance ticket with a B2-size poster newly drawn by character designer Akiko Takase
will go on sale at theaters on April 26.
In addition, a spin-off film Violet Evergarden: Gaiden - Eien to Jidou Shuki Ningyou - (Violet Evergarden:
Spin-Off - Eternity and Auto Memory Doll -) directed by Haruka Fujita (Sound! Euphonium, Myriad Colors
Phantom World episode director) will be screened at select theaters for a limited time of two weeks between
September 6 and 19, 2019.
