Adaptation based on supernatural adventure manga by Atsushi Ohkubo hits Japanese TV in July
The main cast are ready to battle some blazes in a new key visual (above) for Fire Force, an upcoming TV anime adaptation based on Atsushi Ohkubo's supernatural adventure manga about paranormal fire fighters.
The original Fire Force manga is serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine, and an English language version is also available from Kodansha Comics, who describe the story as follows:
The city of Tokyo is plagued by a deadly phenomenon: spontaneous human combustion! Luckily, a special team is there to quench the inferno: The Fire Force! The fire soldiers at Special Fire Cathedral 8 are about to get a unique addition. Enter Shinra, a boy who possesses the power to run at the speed of a rocket, leaving behind the famous “devil’s footprints” (and destroying his shoes in the process). Can Shinra and his colleagues discover the source of this strange epidemic before the city burns to ashes?
The Fire Force TV anime is directed by Yuki Yase and features animation production by David Production. The series will broadcast in Japan in July as part of the MBS / TBS "Super Animeism" programming block, and it will also be available via online streaming in North America via FunimationNow.
