First CD will correspond to new series's first cour
Shinichiro Watanabe is making more sci-fi musical magic with Carole & Tuesday, and the series's first soundtrack release shows it will be full of tunes right from the get-go.
The series brings together musicians from around the world to create tracks for the title characters and other performers among the cast. All told, the first volume of the soundtrack — equating to the show's first 12 episodes — will contain 20 vocal tracks. The songs will be composed by creators including Flying Lotus, Thunder Cat, and m-flo's Taku Takahashi.
The album will be released on July 10, with iTunes and other digital services offering it as early as May 29. Carole & Tuesday is currently running in Japan, and is licensed by Netflix worldwide for eventual streaming.
