New Monthly Shonen Sirius manga will be drawn by Toradora! artist

Everyone's favorite hard-working platelets are getting their moment in the sun, thanks to a new Cells at Work! spinoff!

The popular series, in which cells of the human body are personified as workers, has spawned several spinoff manga already. Cells at Work! Code Black follows cells attempting to look after an unhealthy body, while Cells at Work! Friend focuses on a Killer T cell dead-set against making friends but enjoying his job immensely.

The series will be written by screenwriter Yuko Kakihara, who handled series composition for the Cells at Work! anime. Yasu (Toradora!, Joshiraku) provides the art.

Cells at Work! Platelets kicks off in the July issue of Monthly Shonen Sirius, which hits newsstands in Japan on May 25.
