Netflix Original Anime Aggretsuko Returns for Another Round in June

New season features new headaches for Sanrio's adorable red panda office lady / death metal karaoke character

Retsuko, a beleaguered red panda office worker, lets loose with a barrage of death metal karaoke.

Starting in June of 2019, everyone's favorite red panda over-worked office lady / death metal karaoke enthusiast is back in the second season of Aggretsuko, a Netflix original anime based on the working life of Sanrio's popular mascot character, and this time Retsuko has new challenges to contend with: a new junior at her company as well as her own overbearing mother.

Sanrio describes the character of Aggretsuko as follows:

Aggretsuko is a cute Red Panda, working as an office associate in the accounting department of a highly respected trading company. She works in one of the biggest metropolitan areas of Tokyo. It’s always been a dream of Aggretsuko to work as an accountant, especially in this part of the city. But in reality, her bosses are unsympathetic and give her harsh deadlines. She ultimately has become a pushover within the company. When she gets pushed to the limit, she goes out after work and takes out her frustration and stress with heavy metal Karaoke sessions!

The main cast of Aggretsuko poses beneath a starlit landscape while a plane flies overhead.

Aggretsuko is written and directed by Rareko and features animation by Fanworks. The second season of Aggretsuko begins simultaneous worldwide distribution on Netflix on June 14, 2019.
