Rock-Climbing Manga Kotera-san climbs! Gets Live-Action Film

Seinen manga about the sport of bouldering has been serialized since 2014 in Kodansha's "Good! Afternoon"

Some quick news for all you fans of sports that challenge your forearms and overall upper body strength: Kotera-san climbs! (known as Noboru Kotera-san in Japan), a manga by coffee about a high school girl with a mysterious aura who loves the sport of indoor rock-climbing, is being adapted into a live-action film.

So far, no further details about the production (such as the director, cast, or release date) have yet been revealed.


The original Kotera-san climbs! manga has been serialized in Kodansha's Good! Afternoon seinen manga since 2014, and a  total of 4 collected volumes have also been published in Japan. Described as a "climbing everyday comedy", Kotera-san climbs! follows the daily life of Kotera, a high school girl who loves bouldering and who projects a cool, polite demeanor despite her obsession with the sport.
