Hitori Bocchi is currently trying her best to befriend her classmates in Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsu, a currently broadcasting TV anime based on the humorous 4-panel comic by Katsuwo about a painfully shy girl on a mission to be more sociable, and now the album artwork and a preview video have been published for the upcoming release of the OP / ED theme singles for the show.
The opening theme, entitled "Hitoribocchi no Monologue" ("A Lonely Monologue"), is performed in-character by Hitori Bocchi (CV: Chisaka Morishita), Sunao Nako (CV: Minami Tanaka), Honsho Aru (CV: Akari Kito), and Sotoka Rakita (CV: Yūko Kurose). The ending theme, entitled "Ne, Issho ni Kaero." ("Hey, Let's Go Home Together."), is performed by Bocchi Hitori. Both songs will be released as singles in Japan on May 29, 2019.
The original Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsu manga is serialized by ASCII Media Works (a division of Kadokawa) in their Comic Dengeki Daioh "g" magazine. The Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsu TV anime is directed by Takefumi Anzai and features animation production by C2C. Crunchyroll currently streams Hitoribocchi no Marumaruseikatsu, and describes the story of the series as follows:
Hitori Bocchi, a girl with extreme social anxiety, has had only one friend throughout elementary school. When Bocchi learns they'll be split up after graduation, she makes a promise to her: "By the time of my middle school graduation, I'll make friends with everyone in my class." And if she can't... they won't be friends anymore?! But Bocchi has a hard time talking to people. When she gets nervous, her legs cramp. She can't look other people in the eye. She doesn't even know how to make friends! Every way she thinks of to make friends ends up failing. Will her friend-making plan pay off?!
