Voice Actors Confront Eldritch Horrors in Call of the Cthulhu Cross-over

Special tabletop RPG session promotes the 1st volume of the "Even Death May Die" manga

There's something suspicious and otherworldly about the residents of the Gilman Hotel in Even Death May Die...

If there's one thing anime and manga authors love to do, it's take inspiration from the "Cthulhu Mythos" stories of H.P. Lovecraft, and now to promote the release of the first collected volume of the Lovecraft-themed manga Even Death May Die (written by Norimitsu Kaihou and Hikaru Sakurai and illustrated by Comaku), three voice actors have taken the plunge in an original scenario for the Call of Cthulhu tabletop roleplaying game overseen by one of the manga's authors.

In the replay video above, voice actors Hiroki Yasumoto, Kana Motomiya, and Maya Yoshioka play characters that have come to investigate the mysterious circumstances at the Gilman Hotel in the suburbs of modern day London. The scenario for the game is written by Norimitsu Kaihou and Hikaru Sakurai, and Norimitsu Kaihou also serves as the "Keeper" (game master) for the scenario using the 6th edition rule set for Call of Cthulhu (originally published by Chaosium, published in Japan by Enterbrain).

The first collected manga volume of the Lovecraft-themed Even Death May Die.

Even Death May Die is serialized by Fujimi Shobo in their Monthly Dragon Age shonen manga magazine, and the first collected volume of the manga was published in Japan on June 08, 2019. Both Enterbrain and Fujimi Shobo are subdivisions of Kadokawa.

Adam Jr. confronts the most terrifying thing in the Cthulhu mythos: a kick to the face from his crazed teammate's stiletto heels.

The highlight of the video for me is when Hiroki Yasumoto's character, Adam Jr., is kicked by his teammate's high heeled shoes for a whopping 6 points of damage, approximately half of his life total. Parlez-vous ouch, Adam Jr..
