"Slow Life" Fantasy Light Novel Series Chills Out with Audio Drama CD

Fifth volume of series written by Zappon and illustrated by Yasumo hits Japanese bookstores in September of 2019

Red and Ritto from the Slow Life fantasy life novel series encounter a water spirit in a state of undress.

 

The tongue-twistingly titled Shin no Nakama janai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta node, Henkyou de Slow Life suru Koto ni shimashita ("Banished from the brave man's group, I decided to lead a slow life in the back country" in English), a comedic and romantic fantasy light novel series written by Zappon and illustrated by Yasumo about a young adventurer who gets kicked out of the Hero's party for not being able to pull his weight, is being adapted into an audio drama that will be included as a bonus CD with the Japanese release of the fifth volume of the series.


The main cast for the audio drama includes:


  • Yūichirō Umehara as Red, a former adventurer turned herbalism shop-keeper.
  • Yumiri Hanamori as Ritto, the princess of the Rogavia Kingdom and a complete tsundere.
  • And Ayana Taketatsu as Ruty Ruru, Red's younger sister and the Hero destined to save the world.

The original Shin no Nakama janai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta node, Henkyou de Slow Life suru Koto ni shimashita novels are published in Japan by Kadokawa under their Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint, and Kadokawa also publishes a manga adaptation with artwork by Masahiro Ikeno. The story of the series follows Red, a former swordsman who is kicked out of the Hero's party when he proves incapable of keeping up with their high-level quests to save the world. Granted a new lease on life, Red decides to take it easy by managing an herbalism shop in the countryside far away from the conflict, but his peaceful days are shattered when Princess Ritto moves in.


The fifth volume of the "Slow Life" series will be published in Japan on September 01, 2019.
